Who Can Apply?

The Indiana Driver Education Foundation is committed to expanding access to driver education for individuals who face financial, systemic, or social barriers to mobility.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Teens and adults seeking access to licensed driver education
  • Individuals from underserved or underrepresented communities
  • Individuals experiencing financial hardship or limited access to transportation resources
  • Justice-involved individuals, including those formerly incarcerated or in reentry programs
  • Individuals seeking driver education as a pathway to employment, education, family stability, or independence

Priority Considerations

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Limited access to transportation
  • Clear need for mobility to support employment, education, or caregiving responsibilities

Note: Applicants must meet state requirements for driver education participation. Scholarships and grants are subject to available funding and program capacity.

How Assistance Is Applied

School Selection

Approved participants may select a driving school from the Foundation's approved partner network.

Direct Payment

Financial assistance is applied directly toward driver education services.

Comprehensive Coverage

Funds may be used for classroom education, behind-the-wheel training, or required program fees.
